This is me
Chris van der Hoff
Since Feldenkrais entered my life in 1990, I have been continually fascinated by the power of this bodywork. For me, it is much more than just another method. In my understanding, Feldenkrais operates on all levels of being and enables transformation on physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional levels.

My professional development
Since 1986, I have had my own practice in Beverwijk (NL), initially working as a Cesar therapist (training from 1980–1985 in Den Dolder), and from 2006 onwards as a Feldenkrais Practitioner (2003–2006: training with Mia Segal, Nijmegen, Bad Tölz).
1987–1991: Member of a team in a paramedical practice with doctors and physiotherapists, Purmerend
Since 1990: Elements of the Feldenkrais method influence my work as a posture therapist.
Through my additional training in Haptonomy (1999–2001, Doorn), the quality of my touch has become even more refined. This training has deepened my understanding of how emotional experiences are expressed in the body and how they become accessible through touch.
Music, especially the voice, has always been part of my life. The four-part workshop "Voice and Body" with Maurice Willems (2001, Doorn) was a formative experience, after which I immersed myself in choral singing and performing for more than ten years.
2009–2013: Member of the team at the Broekpolder Health Center, Beverwijk. Through working with psychotherapists, I was able to support many clients' mental and emotional processes through bodywork and provide significant relief for the clients.
Since 2014: Trainer in MBS Feldenkrais trainings, including in California, Seoul, and Bad Tölz (2010–2014: Trainers training with Mia Segal and Leora Gaster, Bad Tölz)
Since 2023, I am also active in Vienna. As a Feldenkrais Practitioner and as a Trainer in advanced trainings.

My approach & focus areas
With my many years of experience, I support people in prevention and rehabilitation with various concerns – from back, neck, and shoulder problems to breathing and stress-related issues.
My work as a trainer & mentor
As a trainer and mentor, I pass on my knowledge to the next generation of Feldenkrais professionals through advanced training and education in the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, California, and South Korea.
In addition to the profound manual techniques and the understanding that everything in the body is interconnected, I place special emphasis on teaching the interaction between movement, perception, thinking, and feeling.
